7-8 November Review

Div2:  BSL Masters 1 – 1 Robin Hood
Another draw for BSL Masters against a strong Division 2 side shows the rest of the league that this is a changed side from previous seasons. Granted, the red cards still remain as Robin Hood couldn’t capitalize on a second half sending off of a Masters player despite a strong showing from new signee and goal-scorer Leng.

Div2:  FC Pattaya 2 – 1 Pickled Liver
Two stunning goals in the final 10 minutes propelled new-look FC Pattaya to their first win of the season. The recent arrival of some key pieces has transformed FC Pattaya into a more competitive team with skill to match their physical play. Pickled Liver will look to rebound against Robin Hood this upcoming weekend.

Div2:  Bangkok Storm 1 – 2 iPlay
iPlay moved into 3rd place after outlasting Bangkok Storm in the Sunday heat. A solid defense and some attractive link-up play led to second half goals from K. Ton and Kevin Watt. iPlay’s late season swoon hasn’t affected their start thus far as they were able to downgrade Bangkok Storm to a tropical depression.

Div2:  Bangkok United 0 – 3 Siam Celtic FC
Playing at 4pm on a Sunday meant that Bangkok United Japan should have been fielding their strongest possible squad. Nevertheless, undefeated Siam Celtic showed the relegated Bangkok United that they need much improvement if they plan to compete for Division 1 promotion.

Div1: Bulls Head 3 – 1 German All-Stars
BHB’s Sa opened his 2009-2010 account with a pair of goals to erase a halftime deficit to the defensively-minded and injury-depleted GAS. Benni Lohwasser took advantage of a counter attack with a well weighted first half goal, but the Germans lacked depth due to 14 injured players from their current roster.

Div1: Les Gaulois Paris Bangkok 1 – 3 Londoner FC
Andy Birt netted two more goals in a blazing first half that left Les Gaulois with too much work in the second half. Playing at Arsenal Soccer School, the training ground for both clubs, had a familiar feel and ultimately a familiar result. Les Gaulois face Cosmos next, with Londoner facing the always dangerous Anatolia.

Div1: Pattaya City 3 – 2 Cosmos FC
The match of the weekend saw 10-men Cosmos equalize twice before finally succumbing to Ndjana Pierre’s hat trick … giving City maximum points after 5 matches. Cosmos sits mid-table, but know they missed a rare opportunity to share points with City at Horseshoe Point.

Div1: Anatolia 3 – 1 Scandinavian Vikings
Anatolia found another gear after Ruj Teerachai drew the Vikings level in the 51st minute. Martin Kopano and Manga Mbolo Chistian combined to give Anatolia it’s first points since their results were overturned. The Vikings need to regain momentum from their first week victory over Sunbelt United if they want to stay above the relegation zone.

Div1: British Club Casuals 5 – 2 Sunbelt United
BCC rebounded from their disappointing Cup loss to GAS with a thorough defeat of Sunbelt on the back of Alex Olouiegbe’s 4 goals to take him to a league-leading 9 through just 5 games. BCC get another look at GAS over the weekend, while Sunbelt take on Bulls Head.
