28-29 November Review

Div1:  Sunbelt 4 – 2 Cosmos
Sunbelt FC stunned Cosmos on Saturday with a goal from James Hughes in the 2nd minute and a sustained attack that resulted in 4 goals and 3 points that have been coming for some time. The loss dropped Cosmos to 5th place ahead of their upcoming clash with Londoner.

Div1:  British Club Casuals 2 – 1 Pattaya City
The shock result of the weekend saw BCC score a controversial late goal after PAT had clawed back from an early Stuart Louten long-range strike. The linesman kept his flag down as Chris Obi slotted home the winner in the final 5 minutes to move BCC into the league table penthouse suite.

Div1:  Bulls Head 5 – 2 Londoner
Short-sided Londoner was headed for another typical comeback as Alex Stamp scored a well-placed header to close the gap to 3-2 vs Bulls Head, but the lack of bench players meant that they had to take many gambles in the process. On the strength of 2 goals from Federico Pollak, Bulls Head capitalized their opportunities to put 5 in the back of the onion bag.

Div2:  BSL Masters 3 – 1 Pickled Liver
Mild-mannered Danish striker Anders Schmidt scored a brace against 3rd place Pickled Liver as he makes his assault on another scoring title. Pickled Liver has to be frustrated with their lack of consistency, but encouraged by their sporadic peak performances.

Div2:  BSL Youth 0 – 6 Bangkok United
Four goals from BUN’s Adriano, not that Adriano, announced the awakening of the sleeping Japanese giant as they outclassed BSL Youth 6-0. Despite the setback, Div 2 opponents know that BSL has the promise to take down any team once they put all of their talented pieces together.

Div2:  FC Pattaya 3 – 2 iPlay
FC Pattaya recorded their third successive victory on the back of Darryl Mann’s goal in the dying minutes of their 3-2 contest with iPlay. All FCP victories have been by the same margin as they’re able to convert in decisive moments every week. iPlay has been unlucky not to pick up more points as all their games have been quite tight this season.

Div2:  Robin Hood 2 – 1 Samitivej Hospital
Leng’s double powered Robin Hood over a very strong Samitivej team on Sunday afternoon. Any slip up from Siam Celtic, and Robin Hood have shown that they are in the discussion for promotion to Division 1 next season.

Div2:  Bangkok Storm 1 – 2 Siam Celtic
After tasting defeat for the first time in their previous match, Siam Celtic barely escaped with a 2-1 win over derby rival Bangkok Storm. K. Sutthipong’s goal secured all the points and moved Siam Celtic comfortably into first place as the season approaches the midway point.
